SAVIR is pleased to announce that we have signed onto the Call to Action for Equity in Injury and Violence Prevention issued by Safe States, a leading partner in addressing health equity and anti-racism in the injury and violence prevention field. By signing on to this call to action, SAVIR is joined by more than 30 organizations in committing to broadening the reach of injury and violence programs by reducing racial and health inequities through community engagement, partnership initiatives, and policy strategies with the goal to support more equitable outcomes for disadvantaged populations. The linked document summarizes the burden of injuries and violence as a national public health issue, identifies actions for supporting the convergence of IVP and equity work, and promotes a list of recommendations to advance the application of equity frameworks toward achieving equitable outcomes for those impacted by injuries and violence.
